The homeowner loved the natural light and architectural style of their living room bay window, but faced severe comfort issues common in older Edmonton homes:

We prepped the living area with heavy drop cloths to protect the hardwood flooring before carefully extracting the old frames.
Rough Opening Inspection: Once stripped to the bare studs, our team checked the structural headers and cripple framing for any hidden moisture damage or shifting, ensuring a perfectly square foundation for the new units.
We integrated a high-efficiency three-panel window combination designed to optimize both view and ventilation.
Thermal Core Setup: A large, fixed picture window was installed in the center to provide unobstructed neighborhood views, flanked by two operational single-hung windows on the sides to allow for perfect cross-breeze ventilation.
Advanced Foam Insulation: We filled the cavity between the new window frames and rough opening studs with low-expansion, closed-cell window foam. This creates a continuous thermal break that completely blocks icy Edmonton winter drafts.
With the windows level, plumb, and fully insulated, we completed the interior transformation:
Custom Sill & Casing: We fabricated custom interior trim casings to frame the unique angles of the bay window projection perfectly.
Seamless Paint-Ready Finish: All joints were tightly mitered, countersunk, and filled, leaving a flawless, crisp white trim profile that beautifully frames the room’s natural light right next to the fireplace.
